The main feature of gpx-tracks.org is the simple, filter-based search for hiking trails on the map. Three filters are available:
We provide two methods of positioning the map:
You can access both functions via the menu in Hiking Trails mode.
In general, hiking trails are only displayed on the map up to a certain zoom level. If you zoom out further, you will only see markers and - if zoomed out even further - nothing at all.
As we have stored a large number of hiking trails in our database, it is often not possible - depending on the filter setting - to display all hiking trails in the selected map area, even at a high zoom level. We prioritize supposedly good hiking trails and hiking trails in the center of the map.
We make all our hiking trails available to download free of charge as GPX files, which can be used in almost all hiking apps. We don't want to replace these great apps! Take a look at these, for example:
If you know of any other great apps that work without the need to register or subscribe, please send us an e-mail at info@gpx-tracks.org.
You can quickly find tips on how to use GPX tracks by searching the Internet.
For all those who do not yet have one of these great apps on their mobile devices and do not want to bother with downloading files, we offer a rudimentary option to use our tracks for hiking directly via gpx-tracks.org. Simply select a hiking trail and then click on the icon ' Link' at the bottom right. A new website with the selected hiking trail will open in the browser, which you can save to your favorites or home screen, for example. You can show your current position on the map by clicking the start button . You can end tracking by pressing the Stop button . The button positions the map on you. Have fun with it!
